YouWipe is the all-in-one solution concerning secure, residue-free deletion of data from all file systems, both from stationary devices (PC / desktop), network storage, storage, and mobile devices (notebook / laptop, unlocked smartphones / cell phone or tablet, iOS / Android).

It is often said that companies need a “erasure concept” in order to meet the requirements of the GDPR. Since personal data is collected in a variety of places in every company, a concept is required that makes it easy and simple to understand which data carriers have been deleted, when, where and how.
The solutions we offer begin where conventional data erasure software reaches its limits. Hard drives, for example, contain areas that cannot be reached by the majority of data deletion programs on the market and therefore cannot be deleted. These include, among other things: The Host Protected Area (HPA), Device Configuration Overlay (DCO) and sector remapping.

YouWipe supports all common interfaces. Independent investigations, using the ADISA methodology for the complete deletion of data, confirm the reliability of the reconstruction of the solutions we use from all storage media. YouWipe has been recognized and successfully certified according to strict and professional standards not only by our parent company Kürt Zrt., but also by governments and independent security organizations. Tests were carried out by, among others:
NATO, the BSI, the British National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), the Common Criteria (EAL +3), the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service, the Finnish National Cyber Security Center (TRAFICOM), ADISA (UK Asset Disposal and Information Security Alliance) and TÜV Saarland.

What exactly does the earsure software do?

In order to be able to erase old data on sectors without leaving any residue, this data must be overwritten with a physical value. There are different standards for erasing such as overwriting this old data 1x, 3x or 7x. The algorithms required for data erasure are stored in the YouWipe software and can be selected depending on your needs and wishes.

fter the erasure process has been successfully completed, you will receive a tamper-proof certificate for each erased storage medium, which contains the type of erasure (including DCO, HPA) and the erasure algorithm. Auditable asset information about the erased medium is also listed, such as manufacturer, model, serial number, time, start and end of the erasure process. The erasure certificate can be saved locally, exported as a CSV file or printed. Retrieval in the cloud is also possible in the event of an audit. Here YouWipe meets the highest standards.

An overview of the report / certificate:

Erasure certificates should contain the following important parameters to be meaningful:

  • Consecutive document number
  • Version/Revision of the erasure software
  • Person executing the erasure
  • System information of the erasure environment
  • Hard drive device information (manufacturer, model, serial number, type, capacity, sector count + size, remap sectors)
  • Erase information (erase pattern, start/end time, duration, hidden areas, bad sectors, etc.

How does erasure work? How is it handled?

The deletion of data and the management of deleted data storage media is divided into two areas in YouWipe:

  1. The erasure client with which you perform the erasure (bootable USB stick, CD or PXE option). You will receive an ISO file for creating the erasure client along with the manual when you order the license.
  2. The cloud-based management console “wipeCenter” for managing the certificates of the erased data storage media (see below). Also possible with display of your company logo.

We have a special cooperation with the Finnish developer YouWipe, because he is not yet one of the big players in the market and is still relatively unknown in Germany, but the quality and user-friendliness of this solution is outstanding, and we also have exclusive sales rights and work directly with the developers of the software.

This gives us the opportunity to tailor specific adjustments to the software itself to different customer needs.
