The individual steps of our process for your order:

1.Registration / inquiry or telephone consultation

Our employees will be happy to advise you as part of an initial assessment of your data recovery or damage event before you register online.

The quickest way to register your case on our website is to use the blue “Analysis-Registration” button, which you can find in the menu list at the top right. Here you can provide a short description of the error and your most important data, e.g. images, folder or file names, time periods. This is how you determine your (our) basis for success. We cannot accept later complaints without information.

As you can see from our analysis price list, we offer our customers different service levels (e.g. Standard = 6 working days / Express = 3 working days / Emergency = 1-2 working days. The service time is calculated from the day after receipt of the data medium. Depending on how soon you need your analysis report, select the service that is right for you based on our list.

You will receive the order confirmation, your order/identification number and our process description via email promptly, no later than the next working day. If you do not receive an email or an error message occurred when sending it, please contact us!

2. Submit the media

Please send your data carrier with your order number enclosed to us in Bochum within the next two weeks in a shockproof and break-proof package.

Please pack the hard drive in an antistatic bag (if available) and it is best to use a foam cardboard box or a conventional cardboard box with any filling material. It is important to ensure that the hard drive does not move or slip within the package.
For flash (USB stick, memory card), take a bubble envelope or a smaller cardboard box (with filling) and attach the data carrier to cardboard paper, if necessary with adhesive tape. Please DO NOT send it in a normal envelope, as these go through a roller system in the letter distribution centers and the data carriers can be pushed out of the envelope.

You will find everything explained in detail in our process description.

3. Diagnosis of the data carrier in the clean room

After we have received your data carrier, it will be registered in our system and then sent to our laboratory in Budapest, HU (EU) to our mother company Kürt Zrt. forwarded.

The analysis / data recovery is carried out in our ISO certified laboratory for any type of damage. In the first step, your storage medium will be carefully checked by our engineers. We would like to point out that when diagnosing/recovering data from physically damaged data carriers, opening them in a clean room (class R 100) is usually unavoidable. We therefore require your consent to open the data carrier when you register. We ask you to clarify any warranty claims with the dealer/manufacturer in advance.

Within the selected service time, an analysis report (containing a detailed description of the error and forecast with expected processing time) as well as an individual fixed priced offer will be created and sent to you by email. If replacement parts are required, these will of course also be listed accordingly.

After receiving the offer, you have 30 days to decide.

4. Placing the order

Based on our analysis report and the conditions mentioned, you commission us to recover your data from your data carrier. The placing of an order (or rejection) can only be acknowledged in written form. Please send us the PDF form attached to the analysis report (ticked and signed) or simply give us the order in writing by email.

After the order has been placed, if the customer terminates the process prematurely, a processing fee and, if necessary, spare part costs that have already been installed will be charged.

In general, you as a customer will be informed about the costs of all data recovery processes and will therefore be guaranteed cost transparency at all times. No costs will be incurred at any time without first obtaining your consent.

If you reject the offer or our prognosis is “not salvageable”, the analysis costs and the return shipping fees or the destruction costs (according to the price list / analysis report) of the data medium may apply.

5. Data recovery

After receiving the written order, we will immediately begin the data recovery process, if possible. If we do not have an identical replacement hard drive in stock, we will order one, this can take an average of 3 – 7 additional days.

After replacing spare parts (if needed) or reconstructing the firmware (control algorithms), a best possible sector-based copy (1:1 image) will be created. The logical reconstructions of the file system and the data are then carried out. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, data recovery is deemed to have been successfully completed when data can be recovered in accordance with the data recovery rate stated in the analysis report. This is proven with a file list.

Depending on the damage pattern/complexity, the technology used and the corresponding effort, the processing time is usually between 5 and 20 working days.

We can’t always estimate exactly how long this process will take in advance, but we work as quickly as we are able and the damage allows. You can be sure that we will always keep you updated on the progress. If you have questions, we are happy to help.

6. File list

After completing the logical reconstructions, we will send you an online file list by email. This gives you a convenient overview (with percentage information) of which files can be saved, which could possibly be damaged and which could not be saved. Image files are displayed with a preview function. This way you can check the data recovery result.

If the data recovery with an administration file was successful, the original file/folder structure will be present. However, we cannot give a guarantee in advance. Unfortunately, if the file system is damaged, a complete repair will not always be possible. In such cases, common file formats (such as jpg, mp4, Office documents, PDF, etc.) are restored using so-called RAW (depth) scans. The original directory structures and file names cannot be restored. For this reason, checking the file list might sometimes take longer.

After receiving the file list, you have 14 days to give us feedback as to whether the file list is OK.

If you are satisfied with the result, we will save your data to a new target disk based on the capacity of the recovered data and invoice you.

7. Transportation

As soon as we have received the invoice amount, we will send your data to you either with FedEx (foreign) or with DHL (domestic). Personal collection is also possible by prior arrangement.

The destination disk is always encrypted before shipping for data protection and security reasons. The password for decryption will be sent to you in a separate email.

After successful data recovery, we keep a backup copy for you 10 days after sending the restored data. Please contact us in good time if you would like an extension or have a complaint. Claims can only be made during the retention period.
